Stuff We Love: GO Veggie! Dairy Free (+ Yeast Free) Parmesan Cheese

1:53 PM

Just a reminder, these reviews are unsolicited. We don't receive any compensation, we just love the product.

We're so excited about today's product share. This is something that we only recently started using (I'm not sure why—perhaps it's new?) but couldn't love more. I still have a few little voids in my foodie soul, things I don't really need but do really, really miss.

One such is Parmesan cheese.

I'm not talking the fresh, Italian restaurant fancy stuff here, but the Kraft kind in the green jar with the spoon slot on one side of the lid and the big holes on the other. You know what I'm talking about. I used to put it on everything—spaghetti and meatballs (obviously), pizza (no such thing as too much cheese), you name it. Who cares that it isn't even real, it just tastes so good.

Needless to say, the day Tanya came home with this little faux-Parma goodness changed my world forever. No longer would my spaghetti be lacking in cheesy heaven. Let's be honest, I don't even remember how that green cheese powder tastes; it probably don't have much of a taste at all. But this stuff, this GO Veggie! parma-liciousness, is everything you'll need and more.

Unfortunately for you soy-abstainers out there, this is a soy-based cheese. If you only have a mild sensitivity (like I do), you'll likely use such small amounts that it won't bother you. I'd have some major tummy troubles with a glass of soy milk, but this cheese doesn't seem to do much to me.

Besides soy, it contains: Rice Flour, Coconut Oil, Rice Maltodextrin, Natural Vegan Flavors, Rice Flour, Rice Meal, Tricalcium Phosphate, Vegetable Glycerine, Lactic Acid (Non-Dairy), Citric Acid, Vitamin A Acetate, Soy Lecithin.

Oh yeah, and I'm telling you this for a reason. Remember that pesto we made yesterday? It doesn't have any faux-Parma in it (it doesn't freeze as well). That means we'll be adding parma to dishes that use the pesto. It's better that way. We'll show you tomorrow when we whip up some delicious alfredo pesto.

    1. You're very welcome—you make great products! It's very difficult for us to find cheeses that are both dairy free and yeast free (and still delicious). We only recently discovered you, but you're definitely our new go-to.
